When the weather starts to turn cold and the days begin to get shorter, it is common for people to become depressed or lose interest in things they care about. This is a condition known as “the winter blues,” or more scientifically, Seasonal Affective Disorder. This condition can affect anyone, no matter their age, gender, or background. While many people believe that being deprived from the extra sunlight can cause the winter blues, a variety of other things (such as back-to-school, holidays, and cold weather) can exacerbate the condition. The good news is there are things that you can do to help stay ahead of the winter blues and keep you feeling more like yourself.
