Turtle Crunch Smoothie

Ever thought about the extra crunch that you can not quite have on regular recipes? Well, this is your time to change that: hail the turtle crunch smoothie. A combination of the pecan flavor with the tang of chocolate and the always marvelous salted caramel to make extraordinary taste a reality.

The turtle crunch smoothie however, takes some time. It requires you pay attention to your timing and prepare ahead of time. But don’t worry, you can save up the leftover ingredients (such as the salted caramel sauce) to make something else, or to have pre-made for your next serving. Ready to jump in the flavor? This is your chance to make this amazingly delicious smoothie.


For the salted caramel:

  • 1/4 cup of raw cane sugar
  • 1/8 cup of vegan butter
  • 1/8 cup of almond milk
  • Pinch of pink salt

For the smoothie:

  • 2 scoops of Almond Pro™ vanilla protein powder
  • 4 frozen bananas
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of water

For the chocolate ganache:

  • 1/4 cup of dark chocolate chips
  • 1/8 cup of almond milk
  • Plus: Handful of pecans

Directions:

  • In a small pot on medium heat add cane sugar and stir well until fully melted.
  • Add butter and stir until fully melted, next add milk and salt and let simmer, stirring frequently.
  • Once caramel bubbles and all ingredients are combined set aside.
  • In a blender add all ingredients for smoothie and blend until combined.
  • In a small pot double melt chocolate. Add milk and whisk well until well combined.
  • In glassware of choice add caramel, then pour in smoothie, add chocolate ganache, and top with pecans. Serve and enjoy.
